Sequences
An escalation sequence is a list of stages — which template, how long a seller gets, whether fresh evidence or approval is required — and the default that Prepare notice starts.
Last revised
A sequence says what happens after the first notice: the second, the escalation, the final notice — in what order, with what minimum wait between them, and with what has to be fresh before each. Three stages is a convention, not a rule: a sequence is a list of any length up to ten, and each stage carries its own settings.
What a stage carries
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | “First notice”, “Escalation”, “Final notice” — whatever your program calls it. |
| Template | Which published template version this stage renders. |
| Minimum wait | How long after the previous stage was sent before this one becomes due. Zero is allowed and means as soon as the previous stage is sent — it does not mean without approval. |
| Requires fresh evidence | Whether a package sealed after the previous stage is needed before this one can go. |
| Requires fresh approval | Whether a person must approve this stage even if an earlier approval exists. |
Building a sequence
- Open Settings › Enforcement › Escalation sequences and create a sequence, or open one to edit. Name it and say which brand it applies to (or all brands).
- Add stages in escalation order. For each, choose the template, set the minimum wait, and tick fresh evidence and fresh approval as your program requires. Move or remove stages with the controls beside them.
- Choose Save, then Publish. A published sequence version is immutable; a change is a new version, and runs already started keep the version they started on.
- Mark one published sequence as the default — for all brands, or one per brand. Prepare notice on a case starts the default for that brand.
How a sequence runs
- Preparing a notice on a case starts a run of the default sequence for the open breach period and drafts stage 1.
- When a stage is sent, the next stage’s due instant is computed from the send time and the minimum wait. It is stored, not timed: nothing runs in a browser or in memory, and a restart loses nothing.
- When the wait elapses, the stage is re-evaluated, never sent. The full eligibility gate runs, a draft is prepared, and a person approves it. The clock elapsing means “stop waiting and ask”.
- A run stops advancing when the period cures, when it is paused or completed, or when a hold is in force.
What a reply or a corrected price does
A response recorded against the period pauses the run so a person can read it before the next stage. A cure closes the period and the run stops. See Responses and Verification.
Who may do what
Configuring sequences and setting the default needs the enforcement: configure permission — Compliance Manager and Brand Admin — on a plan that includes sequences (Growth and above). Publishing a sequence version requires a fresh second factor.
