Getting started

Add products

Load your catalog one product at a time or from a CSV, with the ASIN, the marketplace and the MAP each product is measured against.

Last revised

A product in MapProtector is one of your own catalog items — SKU, title, product group — with the Amazon listing it is sold as (an ASIN on a marketplace) and the MAP it is measured against. Every observation, candidate, case and evidence package points at a product.

Adding one product

  1. Open Monitoring › Products and choose Add product.
  2. Under Product, choose the Brand, then enter the SKU and Title as your own catalog names them. Product group and Description are optional; groups are useful later for policies and promotions that cover a family of products.
  3. Under Listing and MAP, choose the Marketplace, enter the ASIN, the MAP amount and Currency, and the Condition the policy applies to (New, Used, Refurbished or Any).
  4. Choose Add product. The product joins the catalog with monitoring on and is scanned from its next scheduled slot.

Importing a CSV

For a catalog of any size, import a file. The import validates first and writes nothing until you apply it, so a file with problems costs you a corrected file, not a half-loaded catalog.

  1. Open Products › Import catalogue (/products/import). The Columns panel lists every accepted column: lower-case, underscore-separated, in any order.
  2. Upload a UTF-8 CSV and choose Validate. The row report lists each row as valid or names what is wrong with it.
  3. Fix the file if needed and validate again. When the report reads the way you expect, choose Apply.
  4. Valid rows are written even when other rows fail; the report says which. The Import history panel keeps every import with its outcome, and a file that was already imported is recognized and not written twice.

Monitoring state

Each product has a lifecycle state. Active products are scanned and evaluated. Monitor only products are scanned and evaluated but never produce a violation candidate — for a product you want measured but not acted on. Discontinued products are still evaluated, because a liquidator below MAP on a discontinued line is one of the most common patterns a brand wants to see. Archived products are not scanned and do not count against your plan.

Plan limits

Your plan sets a ceiling on monitored products. A product counts when monitoring is on for at least one marketplace; archived products do not. Adding a product past the ceiling is refused with the limit named, and Settings › Billing shows where you stand. See Billing.
